Women's Group Women's Picnic Edgebrook Covenant Church - Many things are on the agenda for Women Ministries, here are a few of the things going on: A very special thank you to everyone for their generous giving to Women Ministries National Project, Break the Chains, we raised over $513.00. We will keep this open until March 2, 2008. Please make the notation on your check Break the Chains or Women Ministries. Save the date for our Lenten Breakfast, on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 10:00 AM. Tickets will be $6.00. Our speaker will be Kristine Bruckner and the title of her sermon will be New Flesh on Dry Bones. Tickets are available beginning Sunday, February 27 from Lois Janken or Ann Helen Anderson. Come to the Lenten Breakfast and learn 150 ways to solve a puzzle! The Women Ministries board members at Edgebrook are: Barbara Agnello, Chair; Ann-Helen Anderson; Mary Doucette; Lois Janken; and Candi Tepke, ex-officio. If you have any suggestions of programs or have any specific need we can help with, please contact one of us. The following are samples of some of these: Local: Candy rolls made and distributed to the North Park Friendship Center and Jesus People USA; Christmas gifts for the children helped by the Friendship Center; monetary Christmas gifts to our women missionaries; we hep to promote and provide financial support for the Women Ministries National Project; baby shower for the Ravenswood Covenant Church "Mom's Closet"; we provide an opportunity for our women to connect at the Lenten Breakfast and year-end picnic. Central Conference: Conference annual project; Ministry Partnership support; North Park University scholarship; Special Interest missionaries; worship grant for new churches; camping; Covenant Home; Swedish Covenant Hospital; Bjorklund House; Well Spring Center for Hope. National: National Project "Educate the Girls"; Advocacy for Victims of Abuse (AVA); Triennial XII; promote Women Ministries in the local church; promote racial righteousness through Sankofa Journey; "inSpirit" magazine - and inspirational and informational quarterly magazine; Cross Cultural Opportunities PACE; manage onoing projects advocating for women.
